My students need books that are relevant to their experiences now and in the future; ones that will make them laugh, cry, wonder, appreciate, reflect, and meditate on the many aspects of the human condition.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is nestled within a rural community full of hard-working families who strive to raise well-rounded children. As a school that places great value on meaningful and supportive relationships, we recognize the need for strong ties to our community because we know that without their support, educating thoughtful, respectful, and innovative students would be a difficult endeavor.
As a "rural-fringe" school, it is highly important to us to continuously challenge and expand all of our students' perceptions of the world and the many cultures that exist so that they are able to understand the different facets of the human condition from a personal, community, and global perspective.
As our school population continues to become more diverse, we continue to place a high degree of emphasis on developing the capabilities to support the needs of all of our students and their families so that engaging, innovative, and relevant learning takes place.
My Project
This project has been created for the #FillEveryShelf campaign, a noble and laudable campaign that offers our 10th-grade English Language Arts classroom a spectacular chance to bring in contemporary as well as classic literature! A student who picks up a book is willingly entering another world, one sparked by pure and unbridled imagination and/or one that faithfully preserves bygone eras, people, places, and times of significance. When the perfect book is found, it becomes a perfect friend; the companion whose sage advice comes at opportune times, whose jokes are perfectly timed, whose heartbreak becomes shared, whose joy is magnified by two hearts, and whose ability to tune in to one's feelings leaves an indelible mark upon the reader.
Books are the repositories of the imagination as well as keepers of the human experience and if you have ever been comforted by a book or experienced awe-inspiring worlds without leaving the comforts of your home, please help my students do the same by helping us fund our project during the #FillEveryShelf campaign.
Books are, without a doubt, the conveyors of wonder, of the fantastic, and of the important life lessons that make us all better individuals.
Prior to submitting this project, I surveyed my students to allow them the chance to identify books that they were interested in having available in the classroom; the response was overwhelming with many requests made. As such, please know and rest assured that with every donation our project receives, my students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and when this project is funded during the #FillEveryShelf campaign, we will have truly magical and spellbinding books for our bookshelf thanks to all of our generous supporters!
