it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a group of 30 dual language first graders. They are learning in Spanish and English every day. I get the privilege of teaching the English side of our program at a Title I school and I get to watch these incredible second language learners develop a new language and excel at it.
The majority of my students come from low income households and don't often have all the resources they need to succeed.
At school, we try to create a space of support and safety and provide all the resources they could need.
My students are becoming super readers every day, and it brings me so much joy watching as they discover this entire new world of adventure. Early literacy will be a big focus for us this year, and I can't wait to see the growth these incredible students make.
My Project
Reading is the foundation of first grade and our classroom library needs some help! This project will provide brand new books for my students to read and engage with each and everyday.
The books for this project are engaging, diverse and relevant for my students.
They represent their culture and other cultures around the world. Some are also books that are at their level of reading so they can continue their growth in becoming super readers! I want my students to love reading and these books will do just that!
