My Students

I have a class of 3k children! They are curious beyond belief! They touch, they speak, they are learning to listen and they especially love books. My students feel like big kids when they hold books. When they open a book, see those pictures and the words, their faces light up and the magic begins!! They bring the book to the nearest adult, demanding that it be read to them. They even hide their favorite books from one another, which indicates more books are required to meet the needs of these students.

My Project

The library area is a frequently used center in my classroom. Students enjoy books based on their interests and needs, so it is important to offer a variety. They enjoy reading individually, in small groups, and during story time with a teacher. I use books to support skill and content development related to monthly themes, social-emotional development, and physical development. Young children need language supported by pictures to make connections, so books are an integral part of their learning. Our lending library allows learning through books at home too! We thank you in advance!
