Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I haven't met my students for this coming school year, but I know without a doubt they will be excited to learn every day! Third graders are still incredibly curious, and as old as they think they're getting, nobody is too old for a good story!
I work at a school where 93% of the students come from low-income families, and I want them to walk into their classroom knowing they have everything they need when they are at school!
My Project
Many of my students have very little access to books outside of school. I want to encourage their love for reading and make quality literature as accessible to them as possible. The book bins will make it possible for my students to be able to select and store books for independent reading time. The stools will be a fun way for them to sit during our small group reading time!
Using mentor texts in my lessons will also significantly increase their comprehension of new reading, grammar, and writing skills!
These books will give them opportunities to see how authors creatively use what we are learning!
