Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting books about the environment and cultural awareness. One set of books is geared towards teaching about how we can help our planet. These books would focus on the impact of recycling, reusing and reducing waste. The other set of books I chose because I wanted to take into account one of my students' Filipino heritage. I have other Asian and Pacific Islander heritage books, but I do not have Filipino heritage books. I would like to incorporate my student's heritage in reading books from his culture. I also added a wobble stool to aid the Special Education students that mainstream into my classroom.

This year my class is outgoing and willing to take risks.

They love to give their opinions and ask lots of questions. They love to learn about new topics in science and social studies. They ask thoughtful questions related to their world and are not afraid to give their opinions.
