This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, many students who have historically struggled to read have expressed interest in reading for pleasure and have asked me for book recommendations! With you help last year, I started a speech student library of curriculum relevant, grade level books to aid instruction and help support students in the speech room.
This year, I am asking for help in starting a reading for pleasure section of our library to encourage students of all reading levels to find joy in reading!
I would love to fill the library with YA novels as well as books in well-loved series that will get students excited about reading. Additionally, I would like to purchase two comfy chairs to create a space in the speech room that encourages them to sit and leaf through the pages of their soon to be new favorite books!
