This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students in my classroom are inquisitive, compassionate, eager to learn, and love to have fun! As students from an urban community, strong relationships, interactive learning, and consistency are vital to their success. They come in every morning with smiling faces and fresh minds that are ready to get down to business to build the foundations they need to become successful, bot academically and emotionally! My students are my light, and deserve to have the best, safest, and happiest learning experience!
My Project
Our classroom library is already stacked full of some great books; however, they are not in the best condition; pages are missing, covers are torn, and the bindings are bent.
Independent reading time is a time when students get to choose a book, find a quiet space, and read!
The classroom library needs to be full of fun and engaging books for our students! When students see books that interest them, they are more likely to pick them up and try to read! Having these books in our library would be such an awesome gift to the students, and the future of their literacy skills.
