Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The new school year is approaching. and I will be welcoming amazing fifth grade students into our classroom.

For most of my fifth graders this will be the first time stepping into a classroom in over a year.

I know that they will continue to be resilient!

My Project

The chapter books requested have all been selected with my new fifth graders in mind. The variety of books are of high interest and at grade level. This will engage my students and allow them to read books independently. They have always treated the classroom library books with care and I know how much they enjoy reaching for a new book to read. The more they read the more they will grow in fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

The whiteboard markers and chart paper were chosen to enhance collaboration in the classroom.

Students enjoy writing on my whiteboard to solve math problems. Each student also has a personal whiteboard that they will be using on a daily basis.
