My Students

Our school is a Title 1, PreK-5th grade elementary school located in East Harlem, NY. I provide speech therapy services to a diverse caseload across all grade levels. My scholars love coming to speech! They are so motivated to meet their individual goals and continue growing by setting new ones.

I want to expand my library to include books that make learning difficult language concepts fun!

Children learn so much through exposure to stories. Fun illustrations capture their attention and give them another way to learn targeted skills. By collaborating with their classroom teachers, I can ensure that they not only learn these concepts, but that it carries over into their classwork as well.

My Project

These books can be used across various grades to teach difficult language concepts. Visuals are essential for scholars who require additional support comprehending and using these skills.

By adding fun stories with illustrations, I can use these in my sessions and in the classroom/home to give scholars access to reading materials that directly support their needs.

These books will help them tremendously to achieve their goals and get further exposure to language. I have also selected books that tie into our spirit days here at our school, which our scholars love!
