Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in our classroom are very special. We have many English language learners in our classroom who have tried and continue to try to overcome the language barriers they currently deal with when learning a new language.

All of the students in our class come from diverse backgrounds and when in the classroom, they come together as a whole to work as one.

Many of our students are also students with disabilities who benefit from having multiple resources available to them in order to achieve their best selves. The students work best when they are motivated and engaged in various activities throughout the classroom that meet each of their individual needs.

My Project

The books will provide the readers in my classroom with different levels of text that will meet their individual needs. The books I have selected are high interest books that will keep the students interested in what they are reading.

Children learn best when they are provided with instruction and materials they can relate to.

The books chosen would be of interest to the children in my classroom.

The books would be used during guided reading lessons. Guided reading is the only time of day where students are learning on the level that they are on. Guided reading allows teachers to provide the instruction that students need to be successful learners.
