My Students

This will be my first year teaching in a Pre-K Center. I love working with younger children. Three-year-olds and Four-year-olds are very inquisitive, and they are not afraid to say what is on their minds.

I know that many of my students will be going to school for the first time.

I know that they will be inquisitive and eager to go to school, but also a little nervous.

All of the students will be the same age and they will see students who are like them, starting school for the very first time. They won't have to fear the "big kids" walking and looming over them as they walk the halls or running at full speed down the hall. This will be a great learning environment for these early learners. My goal is to make learning fun and exciting for my students. My students are special needs and general education students who are all learning to work together and grow as individuals and you can see it in their personalities. Half of the students are bused to school every day. They will be learning through play and interactions with peers and their teachers.

My Project

My students love books. Every chance that they get, they will grab a book from the library and browse through the pages. They may not be able to "read" in the traditional sense, but they are learning to read and to tell stories through photos. My student's imagination is working very well. The addition of these books will give more choices to my students to choose from.

The scrapbooks will give my students the opportunity to make their own personal books, made up of their art work and photos of memorable moments in the classroom throughout the year.

This is something that they can cherish over the years.
