My Students

My students are from a lower socio-economic area that is 100% free lunch. My class specifically is all English language learners who are making great gains in developing their vocabulary and their reading and writing. They are excited about all our different subjects and love to learn!

I want them to love reading and create a magical library that they love to return to day after day!

They often do not have the resources to obtain books themselves so my goal is to provide books for them.

My Project

Ultimately, the best way to become a great reader is to have high quality, high interest books for students to read! I want to provide as many books as possible for my students to read at all times of the day, month, and year!

Students need to read, fluently and accurately, in order to do well in future school years.

Providing these books will improve their reading, their fluency, and their comprehension as they are able to enjoy a large quantity of books.

We read 30 to 40 minutes a day -- and I need to provide my students a huge classroom library for that purpose. I want them to love our classroom library and enjoy choosing books from it. I want them to enjoy the magic of reading!
