Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a low socioeconomic background and have limited resources to use both in and out school. At the same time, my class is full of eager learners who enjoy experiencing new opportunities and using new technology in order to learn. Our school resources are limited and we are not provided with all necessary materials at all times because of the budget. These students are deserving of extra materials that are not provided by the school. Many of the materials and supplies needed for the classroom and students are bought by us, the teachers. Many of my students try very hard and are committed to their education; by donating to their cause it would help them to be successful learners.

My Project

This project will continue to enrich my print-rich classroom. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. They complete work there and they read independently! The students are all different levels and need books that they can read and feel successful reading. Every book that is in my library is treated with love and care. The students are grateful for the books they have to read. However, they love reading about new things and topics. With this project students will be able to choose books about things they like and read about new characters with problems and solutions they can relate to. These books will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

These books will spark a level of interest and learning for my first graders!

Students can select and read fiction and nonfiction books, no matter what level they can read. Our class reads every single day, and new books will keep them engaged and interested in reading. Reading gives me the chance to expose my class to new things and give them the chance to use their imaginations. This project will help my students every year grow so much as readers, and we need your help to continue to do so!
