This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are my children, for 180 days. I strive to do everything in my power to give them the education they deserve. Although we are in a low income, inner city location, my children never give up, no matter what obstacle they are faced with. They are 10 going on 21. They have hearts of gold and dreams that are endless. I want those dreams to come true for each and every one of them. Every child deserves a chance !

My Project

My students are in dire need of high interest chapter books. It is very important to me that they get the opportunity to have that “escape.” Being from the inner city, they are often surrounded by negative environmental conditions. By having a vast library, my students will be given a chance to enter a world of both fantasy and real life adventures through the eyes of a wonderful author. In addition, Reading is the heart of a solid education and prepares them for any job they may get in the real world. I want my students to get every chance they can for success.
