Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I hope to fill my classroom with books that inspire and entice my students to read. The topics include subject matter that matches the curriculum and that which also matches their interests. A child who is interested in a subject will be more likely to choose to read. The children in my class love stories. They love to hear and be read to. I want more from them. I want them to desire to handle the books that I read to them. I want them to desire to read and read more.

A variety of book that are just slightly above the reading level of my children will entice them while challenging them to keep reading.

The books that I have selected are considered "easy readers," yet for some of my children, they are still a challenge. My stronger readers will be learning about history and social-emotional learning. All of these books serve a purpose for all of the children in my classroom.
