Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth-graders at an urban bilingual school. My school is a special place and a community. Teachers and students alike are happy to be in school and are excited and eager to learn.

They love reading and discussing books!

My Project

The middle school teachers at the Hurley have been working hard to engage students with Zoom sessions during remote learning due to the COVID 19 and school closure. Students have been very engages and adaptive during this difficult time. When school's closed, we were able to send students home with a month of material.

Now that the closure has been extended, we are in need of new materials.

Nothings gets students excited for reading like a brand new book. We would love to be able to ship each student an individual book to start our next unit.
