Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books I’m requesting will not only allow my students to connect with an author they can relate to, but they will also provide them with a lasting resource to continue exploring new ideas, themes, and stories at home. These books will encourage independent reading and critical thinking, extending the impact of the author visit far beyond just the event.

My goal is to inspire my students to develop a deeper love for reading and storytelling, creating an environment where they feel more connected to books and confident in their ability to succeed as readers.

By providing them with books from the author, I hope to spark curiosity and motivation that will carry over into their future learning.

My students are incredibly resilient and eager to learn, despite facing challenges related to a low socioeconomic environment. They bring diverse perspectives, rich imaginations, and a thirst for knowledge to the classroom every day. Their passion for learning is palpable, and an author visit would be an opportunity to show them the limitless possibilities that books can offer.
