Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The month of September is Hispanic Heritage Month. In this month, my class would like to utilize these inclusive books as a way of connecting with the Latinx community and immersing ourselves in the culture.

Out of 75 of my students, 70 are Latinx, and having books as mirrors and windows allows them to look inside a book and see people that look, speak and act like them.

By having these books we can showcase a different Latinx narrative and broaden their knowledge of the diaspora of the Hispanic/Latinx community.
