Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle schoolers come to school every day eager to learn, despite the fact many are facing challenges within the low-income neighborhood surrounding our school.

Students start the day by reciting the five school values, which drive student and teacher motivation.

One of those values states, "We believe that each of us can learn and that in school we grow to become all that we can be." Another value of the utmost importance is, "We believe that going to school is the most important thing we could do right now."

My Project

I would like my students to have access to more books within my 6th grade classroom library. Currently, my classroom library is limited in resources, and the condition of many of the books is poor. The majority of my students do not have access to books at home, and I would like to foster a life-long love of reading. The books I have chosen are items they have expressed a great interest in, and I would like the opportunity for my students to feel happy when they see brand-new books available to them that build their enthusiasm to READ, READ, READ!
