Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my class are curious and inquisitive. They come from diverse backgrounds. Their differences make our class community rich and interesting. They are kind and compassionate towards each other’s differences. They love helping each other learn. They come to school every day ready to learn and share what they know.

My students are very expressive about their thoughts and feelings.

They are not afraid to make mistakes or ask questions.

Most of my students do not have books at home to read. They bring books from school every day and bring them back the next. The books in our classroom are outdated which makes it hard for students to relate what they are reading to their life.

My Project

Choices of books to read will give my diverse learner the opportunity to explore different worlds through literature. It will help them become lifelong learners.

Books are one of the ways for my students to visualize the world outside their own. Books bring them to places their family cannot offer to go and experiences they are not offered to have yet.
