This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Each and every day, I am surrounded by innovative and exuberant students. Their stories and backgrounds fill my room with color and enthusiasm. They are incredibly open-minded and ready for a challenge when they walk through my doors each and every day.
An adventure awaits, and my scholars choose to rise to the challenge in spite of the challenges they may face at home or the lack of parental involvement.
My students choose to rise! This is just the beginning for my little leaders.
My Project
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read high interest books. I would like to have books that will hold their interests and keep them reading and help them become life long readers. The pouches will be used to store books and keep them in great condition when they are used around the classroom.
Students who read these books find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment!
Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is a perfect way to build better readers. Books are a gateway to better reading skills for reluctant readers. My students will love getting their hands onto these books.
