My Project

I strive to read at least three books a day to my Pre-K students, so having a variety of high quality literature is essential. I also prepare activities where students can revisit the books in our class library center and practice retelling the story with props. The journals are a way for students to draw or write about their favorite parts of a book and then share with the class, which gives them a speaking opportunity.

Revisiting books helps my students deepen their comprehension, vocabulary, and story retell skills.

Many of my students are second language learners, so the repetition is key to their understanding. My students also have the opportunity to take books home to read with their families, which is why we have multiple copies of books.
