Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken community.
Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.
All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.
I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it. These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
My Project
This is arguably the final collection of books I've had on a list for a long time; from Kwanza to pigs to landing on the moon. This collection has a book for everyone!
Help me clear the final list of books that I have written down!
My students are very diverse readers and they've really started to become their own readers and know what they like and dislike. They've learned which types of books they like and which authors are their favorite. It's been very inspiring to see them read and share their books with their friends. With this collection, they'll continue doing just that!
