Help Ms. Ofstie

I am a 6th grade English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in a very poor area of Brooklyn, NY. My students are beginning-level English language learners from all different countries, such as Mexico, Haiti, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Panama. I would like them to have a Writer's Notebook, which would be similar to a journal that they can can carry around with them throughout the day, jotting down thoughts and feelings. Writing is one of the most difficult aspects of the English language for them to master, and having a journal like this would make writing much more fun and manageable. I would like for my students to be able to make their own notebooks, which would be their Writer's Notebooks. The bookmaking sets I would like for my class come with brown covers, paper, and spiral bindings. I would also like some gel markers, glitter glue, and metallic paper to decorate their notebooks and make them their own. Please help us to share the gift of writing together!
