Book Vending Machine Attracts Students

My Project

As a Reading Specialist, I understand the relevance of reading at an early age and how the gap widens if opportunities to read are not taken advantage of early on in a child's life. Using our school book vending machine, I want to get books in the hands of our school students so that they realize the importance of reading. Many of our students do not have many books on shelves at their homes. I want to use our book vending machine as an opportunity for incentives for school attendance, hard work, and improvement in both behavior and academics. Students will earn special large tokens to be used in the book vending machine. Our students want to learn and want to read and I have given away many books from my personal collections so students can have books. There's nothing like a good book to call your own. I would like for all of our students to strive to be the best version of themselves. Books are a great incentive and books can take these kiddos to places they have only dreamed about. Thank you for considering this project.
