My Project

All of the students in grades 2-3 have opportunity to use sets of early chapter books and novels for clubs and tournaments--but we don't have enough variation to capture all readers! Two of the series that are focused on in reading in 2nd grade are Mercy Watson and Poppleton. These are high interest for students, but only reading one book in the series leaves them wanting more!

My students are excited to read series books and I need to keep up with their momentum!

Mercy Watson has 11 books, Poppleton has 5 books, Henry Heckelbeck has 6 books...and on and on.... We use these books in book clubs and they become the focus in bracket-style tournaments in the spring.

Please help me bring more sets of books from multiple series to diversify the current choices. The best way is to keep students reading is to have lots of different books on hand and ready to borrow. These books all fall into reading levels ranging from 1st to 3rd grade so there is a title for EVERY student in grades 2 and 3.
