Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We read the opening of "The Book Thief" in class to practice our major skills and then the students excitedly asked if we were going to read the entire book. One of the largest struggles at times in an English class, even an AP class. Unfortunately, I had to tell them no because we don't have enough copies for the students to read.

I want to to read a book with my students that they want to read.

The excitement and curiosity they had over the opening two pages makes me want to share this book with them. It's also a little special since it is one of my favorite books.

The 90 AP Literature students that I have this school year are incredible. Many of them are taking the course as their first AP class, which is so exciting! They work hard and I want to reward them with this book.
