Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our teachers are always looking for new projects that let students demonstrate what they have learned and be creative at the same time. Several teachers have become expert at bookmaking with students and the students are so proud of their work once they have made a book. Our teachers have been spending their own money to make these special projects possible.

Now that we have a library and a Makerspace connected to the library, we want to invite teachers to bring their classes to the library for their bookmaking projects.

This project includes special tools for bookmaking like small awls and coated thread and it also includes decorative papers so the students can make their books unique.

We already have four history classes and two English classes signed up to make books in the library at the beginning of May. These test projects will help us determine which tools and supplies are best so we can order the right supplies for next year as well as make beautiful books this year for our students to keep..
