Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I create lifelong learners and readers. I read to my PreK students throughout the day and I give them opportunities to read to themselves. I teach them how to picture read which will lead to reading. They read for DEAR(drop everything and read) in the morning, during center time, and after nap. I use books to to introduce lessons, themes, holidays, and any situations that occur in their lives - new sibling, loose tooth, etc. We read fiction and nonfiction books, children’s magazines, and Weekly Readers. We love to read!
