My Students

Reading has become one of the greatest sources of happiness for so many of my students. They quickly and eagerly devour any novels I put on my shelf and constantly beg for read-alouds from the new novels I acquire.

The desire these students have to read new novels and discuss them within a community of readers will help develop so many skills for their future!

Not only will they hone their ability to effectively communicate with their peers, they will develop more of an open-mind that will help them deal with others in the future. My students are precious, enthusiastic learners who love reading so they can come together and have meaningful discussions with fellow readers!

My Project

As an English teacher, I love to read with my students and have meaningful discussions about characters and situations. I feel that it is important to have open conversations in an environment where students feel that they are safe and can say what's on their minds without fear of criticism from their peers or me.

I want students to find a book that speaks to them that will help facilitate and foster the development of themselves as they continue in their high school journey and future.

These books will help every student to learn to appreciate reading on their own and as well as with a community of readers. We are in need of some of the newest young adult novels that they are interested in reading and discussing together. It will also help my Spanish-speaking students to be able to read high-interest young adult fiction with their peers.
