International Studies means diversifying student experience, and the first book in the series has really captured the class' attention, so we want to keep learning about Chinese culture and Kung fu! The kids love reading the texts and deepening their understanding of a diverse land and culturally rich people. The average student reads below grade level, but they are really invested in these books and the story should absolutely continue.

The texts have been a jumping off point for a point by point analysis of Chinese and other Asian cultures. The students are tearing through the books, and they should be able to keep reading. We all want the reading adventure to continue.

Having the next book in the series, "Monkey," will achieve two important goals. The first is the birth for a desire to read and keep reading and the second in a hope for students to maintain their curiosity about Asian cultures as a gateway to interest in other cultures.

Your help will ensure that the students at International Studies Learning Center continue their interest in cultures beyond their own and keep reading.
