Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are always working hard to complete their work, even when it’s really challenging. They are excited about learning and are always looking for new books and stories to read. Most of them are English Learners, so reading is difficult but they love to hear and write stories.

My Project

Most of my students are English Learners who love books but struggle to read grade level content. They love the books in my classroom library but chapter books have been a challenge to read since they don't have enough pictures.

Graphic novels are the perfect addition to my classroom library since they will allow students to practice reading longer and more complex stories with the help of pictures.

Additionally, I need a TPT gift card to help planning social studies curriculum that is culturally relevant to my students. My school does not provide social studies curriculum and I have been struggling to plan interesting and culturally relevant social studies lessons for my class. Teachers pay teachers has various premade curriculum units that are culturally relevant to my students of color.
