My Students

In our classroom, the students are eager to learn and gain knowledge. My students are very diverse in their learning styles, and economical backgrounds. We are in a fourth/fifth-grade self-contained classroom, where most of our students are preparing for middle school. We are located in downtown Brooklyn, New York. In our school, we try to make learning as fun and engaging as possible for all students. If students are engaged they will be motivated to learn​ and persevere through a task. Knowledge is power, and we are a powerful bunch.

My Project

These materials will allow the students to effectively conduct book club groups. The students are transitioning into book clubs during reading, and require these materials to carry out their tasks and assist them in becoming more independent learners. A large part of my role in their book clubs is to supply them with the appropriate resources to reach their goals. In order to supply these resources I need ink for our classroom computer to print various graphic organizers, question prompts, etc. The students also need their folders and books organized into group bins. Dry erase boards, and pockets are used for students to display their thinking for their group members.
