Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 24 enthusiastic first graders who love to read and learn. They usually come in as high achievers and I love to provide them with challenges to keep them learning and pushing beyond.

Throughout the year, I expose students to different books by either reading aloud to them or reading books as a class.

I have 2 sets of books so far and the students love sharing the experience in what we call "Book Clubs." We read together, take turns reading, and ask questions throughout. The students feel empowered and more engaged by having their own copies of the book.
