My Students

I teach at a Title I Elementary School in Greenville, South Carolina. 91% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. My students are curious, energetic, driven, creative, and reflective learners. At age 10, they have faced more challenges then most, making them some of the most resilient group of kids I've ever known. I will do anything to make our classroom a safe place for them to learn, and structure is a large component of what makes that possible.

This winter, we are starting book clubs.

We need books that will challenge my readers and keep them hooked from start to finish!

My Project

In order to implement balanced literacy in my classroom, I want my students to collaborate and grow as readers through book clubs.

In this project, I have selected a variety of chapter book sets so that I can have multiple copies for students to read during our books clubs.

There is nothing like providing a selection of books that spark inquiry, wonder, and discussion. My students will grow as readers and be challenged appropriately through book clubs.

Thank you for reading about my project. It is pure joy to see students fall in love with reading and become absorbed in stories that expand their world.

Please help me to provide my growing readers multiple copies so they may read in community and grow together.
