My Project

My students range from preschool to eighth grade and come from all over the world. They are eager to learn and grow. Many books that I use to teach social-emotional learning don’t have characters that have their skin, hair, family traditions, culture, and the list goes on. Many books are outdated and have harmful stereotypes.

I’d like my students to feel represented in the books I use to teach them to love themselves.

It’s time for an update and to validate that we all have a place in the world because of our differences not despite them.
