My Project

Our classroom library is the heart of our 3rd grade Language Arts classroom. Students explore their own interests and can choose to read for class research or for pure pleasure. I teach two classes of 3rd grade readers and writers and need materials so all of my students can access their books and learning materials.

These individual student book bins will allow each reader to choose from a selection of high-interest books and keep them clean and organized.

Both classes of 3rd grade readers also need access to a variety of books with diverse characters that reflect our community such as The Secret Explorers and the Lost Whales, Jasmine Toguchi, Mochi Queen, J.D. and the Great Barber Battle. With these book bins, students will be able to choose a space to work in the classroom as a flexible learning space. Last year, our classroom library was open, but students continued to read and work at their desks due to pandemic protocols. This coming year students will be able to choose a working space around our classroom. Students will use these book bins to store their choice of independent reading books and small group learning materials.
