Summer reading is important for students because it helps them maintain and improve their reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension by keeping their minds active during the break, preventing the "summer slide" where academic skills can decline without regular practice, and allowing them to continue learning and developing critical thinking skills throughout the summer months.
This summer, in our library, we will Book a Trip!
Each week we will take a trip to a different city and learn what makes it special. We will have STEM activities for student and families to do, relating to the city of the week. Students will also be able to choose a book relevant to the city to take home and keep.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
