My Students

Every day my students jump up to go and grab their white boards before we run out! They need these white boards to use with support personnel for help with written modeling, enlarged written cues, and supportive accommodations listed in their Individualized Education Plans.

My Special Day Autism Program consists of 11 students on the Alternate Curriculum with varying levels of moderate to severe Autism.

My students are eager to learn and their passion and excitement for education is what drives me to do whatever I can for them. Incorporating different technologies into the curriculum is a way to keep them excited to learn. My school is an amazing school with administrators who go above and beyond to make sure my students have what they need to be engaged in a positive and safe learning environment even with their limited budget. Their dedication to help all students motivates me to reach out in different ways and find other modalities of providing my students with access to updated materials that motivate and encourage their learning. It takes a village!

My Project

My students will use these items frequently throughout the day for various assignments where they will need visual cues from adults and practice writing words with easy opportunities for correction. They will use these in place of their white boards where they are consistently asking me for markers because theirs run out or a new white board because they accidentally used the wrong marker. These new devices will save instructional time and will be more convenient, cleaner, and less of a hassle.

These boards will help provide my students a mean to meet their IEP accommodations in an innovative/environmentally friendly way that still allows them to focus on basic skills such as legible writing .

They provide practical ways for students and parents to take these materials and incorporate them into their every day lives. The magnetic backs on the boards means I will also be able to track them more effectively by storing them right on our magnetic classroom board. Help us get our Boogie on!
