My Project

For the final unit of our literacy curriculum, my third grade students and I will study the importance of and create public service announcements (PSAs) about clean water resources in our local and global communities. To help my students spread the word about the importance of clean water in our local community, I am hoping to include a project where each group gets to design their own PSA buttons.

Creating these buttons will help my students to grow as young activists through an accessible and artistic method that spreads a positive and informative message throughout our community.

They will use these buttons as part of their final projects to share their thorough research on the accessibility and importance of clean water with the larger student body by handing them out during lunch and recess times. And since our school does not have art class as an elective, my students are always excited to have visual arts incorporated into our lessons.
