This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Reading can be challenging for many young students. Trying to decode new words, build phonetic awareness, and increase literacy rates can be frustrating for many new readers. Imagine how difficult it can be for a 14-16 year old to learn to read and write in a new language with limited academic skills

My students are English language learners between the ages of 14-19 coming from countries from around the world.

Many of them come from weak educational backgrounds and can hardly decode words. Being in school is a challenge for such students who are just learning how to be a student at such a late age. They need a lot of extra motivation and support to keep them in school instead of out working. They're so eager to learn, but become easily discouraged when pushed into classes they cannot understand.

My Project

My students need engaging and interactive materials to get them motivated to learn. I'm asking for literacy, reading, and word board games that would get my kids excited about learning, without them knowing it. With the board games, they'll be able to practice their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills by engaging with other students in the game.
