Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the books but our high school campus library in the Bronx needs board games! The school library is not just a place to find books and read but a hub for the school where kids have an opportunity to sit with their friends, play games and engage in other makerspace activites.

We are hoping to provide a safe, inviting space where students can unwind, socialize and have fun!

It's so important to provide the kids with a much needed break from the classroom and board games increase their cooperative learning skills to boot.

The library serves 4 high schools with 4 lunch periods where kids have open access to the library. Kids currently love to play Uno and Jenga but are asking for board games like Scrabble, Guess Who, Chess, etc. Thank you for your help in bringing the fun to these awesome teens in the Bronx.
