My Students

I have just met my students for this year- and only via screen, but I adore them so much already! They are so eager every day to get onto our Zoom sessions. They come prepared and ready to learn! It just warms my heart!

The neighborhood for my Title I school is one of very diverse cultures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds.

No matter their backgrounds, every student attends our Zoom session every day with enthusiasm. This makes me so proud and just as enthusiastic to be their teacher.

This project is to provide protective eyewear for my little loves. Against the better judgement of most, we are all spending way too much time in front of screens, and at this young age, I want to protect their eyes from all the blue light!! I want them to be on screen with me, and I want them to do their "at-home" work which includes screen time, but I don't want them to experience harm to their precious eyes.

My Project

These glasses will help my students by protecting their eyes from all the blue light they are staring at day in and day out. It's all for a good reason though, they are learning! And they are excited to do so! But that doesn't mean the health of their eyes should be at risk.

My students are only 5 and 6 years old, so distance learning is putting them in front of a screen for an amount of time that would be unacceptable at any other time.

I want to see that they get the protection they deserve.
