it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These requested materials would absolutely change my student’s school days for this year. They come to school looking to be loved, protected, respected, and taught.
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, my goal is to do just that for them.
All of my kids on my caseload have something special and unique. They have charisma, energy, kindness, and warmth.
These items will help them regulate, attain, and achieve.
They crave input, whether it’s movement or requesting proprioceptive input, constantly. These items do just that. The bean bag, the fidgets, the small manipulatives, and weighted stuffed animal dog are all interventions to achieve the students goals and objectives. They love going to the OT room once or twice a week because it’s their time to play, with of course an academic reasoning behind it.
I, and the students, would be so appreciative.
They deserve the world. Their smiles are why I do what I do.
