Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with bilingual English/Spanish learners from 8:1:1 and 12:1:1 classrooms. My special needs students have many different communication delays. They really enjoy reading using books in my therapy room even if they are not yet at reading level. My students benefit from picture books to enhance receptive language skills when they are non-verbal learners.

Through the addition of new books to our library with titles in Spanish and English my students will remain engaged and interested in new material.

Teachers Pay Teachers resources will be useful to use with my students when targeting Wh-question comprehension, sequencing, describing, and story elements of the books we receive. It will also provide me with the ability to purchase visual resources that can help them when reading.
