Help Mrs. Adams

After taking my Girl Scout troop to a local toystore to earn their Toymaking badge, we were introduced to the educational game, Blokus, where you strategically place geometric shaped pieces on a board. We followed up our trip to a local restaurant and played Blockus and other board games for several hours. These Girl Scouts are the same age as my 5th grade math students, in fact, I teach two of them this year. We had a blast and the girls suggested that we get several Blockus games for the classroom. After our end of the year testing, we always have Scrabble tournaments. It would be great to be able to add Blockus to our curriculum and tournament schedule. Sneak in that problem solving in geometry!
