My Students

Our students come from all over Brooklyn- as we are a district PreK serving many different neighborhoods. This makes our school community diverse and unique. Our students come from varying backgrounds and cultures. Living in New York City, all of our students have been affected by COVID-19. They are 3-5 years of age and learn through open-ended questioning, exploring the process (not focusing on results) and of course, play!

My Project

We head into this school year facing many challenges and uncertainties. It is my hope that these materials offer students and their families' some stability and comfort, a few less things to worry about.

We will focus on taking care of each other, both our health and social and emotional well-being.

These books will support children in adjusting to being in school wearing face coverings and social distancing, focusing on how we are keeping each other safe. The LEGO Emotions set will give children an opportunity to explore their feelings with a familiar toy through play. The pencil and project cases will help students' travel between our blended (remote and in-school) learning plan. The laminator will allow me to make learning materials easier to clean and more long-lasting, potentially traveling more frequently between school and home than in the past. The cushion for the privacy cube will allow for easy cleaning, replacing the former cushions that we used. The Lysol will help in disinfecting our classroom throughout the day.

We have never experienced school like this before but with your help, these materials can help us prepare!
