My Students

I'm fortunate to work with about 1200 brilliant, elementary school students on a daily basis. We go to a large school in the Atlanta metro area. In all areas of the school day we seek to teach citizenship, community, and moral values and help our students grow into caring people.

Though many of my students come from low income households, they are innovative and creative, not letting boundaries stop them.

Music gives children an outlet to express emotion and ideas and grabs hold of their attention. Their eyes light up when they can take music making into their own hands and create something absolutely new.

My Project

This Bose speaker would be a game changer in so many ways. First of all, the wireless capabilities would help to free up our learning. When it's time for a musical example or recording, I won't have to run to the computer or fiddle with the remote to our old CD player, but will be able to call up the song and play it through the Bluetooth capability of the Bose system. This means that I can stay with students in the moment, and not get pulled away to deal with the outdated speakers that we currently have.

The Bose would also be a huge help for our public presentations and programs.

Frequently throughout the year we have to haul an outdated sound system into the cafeteria, gym, or patio for public performances and once a year we load up the sound system onto a truck to take it around town with us on our choir tour. This one speaker could replace that outdated system and would let me control the performance wirelessly from anywhere in the auditorium or performance space.

Musical recordings would feel just like Carnegie Hall and would inspire and excite. The wireless capability would help us in the classroom and on the performance stage, making every experience smoother. This system would free us to explore the world of sound without anything holding us back!
