My Students

My students are amazing kids who face many challenges both at home and at school. My students all have various disabilities, but they don't let their disabilities hold them back.

All of my students are unique, but one thing is the same in each of them: they love to learn!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and face many challenges before even entering our school. We work together everyday to overcome those challenges and reach new heights. I work with about seventy-five, special education students every week, reaching kids with various disabilities. My students love to move, explore, and play.

My Project

School is starting in just a few short weeks and we are in full preparation mode. With last year being one of the most challenging school years yet, I cannot wait to get my students back in our classrooms learning together!

In order to get our school year started off right, we need some new tools to help us along the way.

New books about inclusion and disabilities as well as emotions and getting along with each other will be a great addition to our read aloud time and will support our social and emotional learning focus for this school year. We will use our new visual timers to help us better understand the idea of "work first" and "then plan" when the timer goes off- helping my students with autism to complete their learning tasks. Finally, sensory tools like water beads (small and GIANT) as well as a weighted lap lizard will help my wiggly learners get the sensory input they need, to help them learn and grow this school year!
