Help me give my students chunky yarn to learn how to hand knit. They will create chunky blankets through an after school service club and give them to residents in the local retirement hospital this December.

There is a local retirement home in our city that has several residents over the age of 70 living there. Most residents do not have regular visitors and enjoy when students drop off cards and notes.
It has always been my goal to teach my students to be kind.
I would like to have the students learn a new craft by hand knitting a chunky blanket, write a note and we would deliver the blanket to the residents in December.
This past Summer, I personally have knitted 15 blankets that I have given to family and friends. I love the smiles on their faces and joy it brings me. I would love for my students to experience the same feeling.
